I would def recommend Simply Noodles, one block from Gray's. Service is quick AF and it seems like they always have regulars in there asking for "their usual" which is NY AF. All of their noodle dishes are about $16 and way more satisfying than spending the same amount on a sad Sweetgreen salad.
There used to be a place, I'm not sure if it's there anymore, and it's tricky to pinpoint. It's a burger joint without a name, somewhere around 57th and 58th, around 6, 7 or 8th ave, I can't recall. Every time I went there, a while back, it was by foot. It's in one of the hotel lobbies around there, hidden behind a curtain where you find only a neon burger sign. They make it in front of you, and there's beer. It's literally a hole in the wall. My favorite place to get a burger in Manhattan. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, I haven't been there in a while.
(The actual address, which I can't remember, is misleading, since it's actually the cross street).
Ah, Burger Joint! I actually haven't been yet, it's become somewhat known to tourists which has dissuaded me from going but I do want to try it. I love a good burger.
ty for the article, here's some of my own suggestions
burrito box, the new gyro place, pizza collective
better sit down places: parm, the smith, cafe paradiso (inside one of the theaters)
would also recommend wonder over migrant kitchen or dig
for dessert there is always a line at salt straw 10 blocks north, but you definitely have to mention magnolia for dessert
also, sorry, but i really really disagree with the flame diner rec, even as a diner i think it's a little embarrassing. johns is pricier and harder to get into but just overall better all around

Ooh I did eat here once and as you say, very quick and nourishing, it was, simply, noodles. This will be added!

i've got to try burrito box!
and i didn't even think to include Magnolia, it's such an institution at this point and the banana pudding is unimpeachable.
certainly wouldn't say Flame is particularly great but being open all night counts for something. It's not as bad as Kellogg's was from 2021-2023.
24 hour is certainly something, but I might still try to convince you to choose mcdonald's or halal at that point :)
Noted for this weekend!
